Election 2024: Lilwin eyes Afigya Kwabere South seat

Kwadwo Nkansah, well known by his stage name “Lilwin,” is a Kumawood actor who recently announced his intention to run for the parliamentary seat representing Afigya Kwabere South in the Ashanti region.

Lilwin claimed that the numerous requests he received from traditional, significant, and opinion leaders, as well as from the general public, had an impact on his decision.

Lilwin revealed this information during an interview on Oyerepa FM. He also stated that he would run as an independent candidate.

“They have already engaged my mother and other relatives on their request, and I have also accepted it,” he stated. “The call started coming in October 2022, and I have also accepted it.”

The actor went on to add that the people who live in his district have told him that they believe he would be a good leader and will be able to serve them better as a result of the investment that he has made in the district by establishing his own school called Great Minds.

“They are persuaded that as an actor who may not even earn much but has been able to establish a school and has also helped other people in other ways, I am capable of doing a lot if given appropriate resources. They say this despite the fact that I have helped several residents in different ways.

He stated, “From the beginning, I wasn't interested in the bid, but now I believe I have to respond to the call of my people.” “I was never interested in the bid.”
