The weather will help Ghana win Afcon in Cote d’Ivoire – GFA

Due to the fact that Ghana and the country that will be hosting the event, Ivory Coast, have weather conditions that are comparable to one another, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) is optimistic that next year’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) will provide Ghana with a genuine opportunity to ultimately retrieve the trophy.

After a scoreless draw with Madagascar, the nation has not yet qualified for the competition, but ahead of the last window in September, Prosper Harrison Addo, the General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), is already convinced that the Black Stars might win the championship.

‘The weather and everything [in Ivory Coast] suits us; therefore, we’re aiming to qualify and go on and win the cup,’ he told Asempa FM. ‘The weather and everything [in Ivory Coast] suits us.

The Black Stars’ previous appearance in the Africa Cup of Nations final occurred in 2015, when they lost to Ivory Coast on penalties. Since then, the Black Stars have not been able to win the tournament.

Ghana will advance to the African Cup of Nations finals regardless of whether or not they win their last qualifying match against the Central African Republic.
