Elrad Salifu Amoako struck a Honda Acura 4×4 at Mensah Wood Street while operating a Jaguar SUV registered GN 7801-20. The two young children were among four other passengers in the Honda, which was driven by Joseph Ackah.

Upon impact, both cars caught fire and burned unrecognizable. The 12-year-olds Justine Agbenu and Maame Dwomoh perished at the scene, while the suspect driver and his passenger were saved and are now being treated at a hospital.

In addition to paying condolences to the family, a delegation from the Police Management Board, headed by Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, visited the hospital to see how the injured victims were doing.

Two of the five people in the Acura were treated and released from the hospital after the collision, leaving three of them alive.

The public was reassured by the police that the accident will be thoroughly investigated and that they were dedicated to providing the impacted family with closure. During this trying time, they also requested that people keep the victims and their families in their prayers.

Public outcry has been triggered by the occurrence, with many people wondering why a 16-year-old was permitted to operate such a vehicle given the sad result.
