Bawumia reveals reason for his presidential ambition

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Ghana’s Vice President, claims that he has made a significant contribution to the country’s progress under the Akufo-Addo administration.

According to him, he has presented himself as an offer to contribute to the improvement of Ghana.

Last Saturday, while Dr. Bawumia was speaking to members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), which is the party in power in Ghana, in the Donkorkrom, Afram Plains North constituency, he said, “I am always driven by public service, not the desire for personal gains.”

Bawumia reveals reason for his presidential ambition

“It is for this reason that I am offering myself first to be elected flagbearer of our party, and then I can offer myself to the people of Ghana so that I can continue to contribute towards the transformation of our country,” Dr. Bawumia mentioned. “It is the reason I am offering myself: first to be elected flagbearer of our party, and then I can offer myself to the people of Ghana.”

Dr. Bawumia has stated that he has been very helpful to Ghana in his role as Vice President.

“I have not been president, but as Vice President, I have worked so hard and contributed significantly to the development of our country through landmark policies I have initiated and spearheaded,” he added. “While I have not been president, I have worked so hard and contributed significantly to the development of our country.”

A number of these policies include “One Constituency, One Ambulance,” “Agenda 111,” “Digital Addressing System,” “digitization of the ports, passport offices, and DVLA,” as well as “setting up of the Ghana.gov payment platform,” “implementation of the money interoperability system,” and “the e-Pharmacy platform.”

As part of his bid to become the next NPP flagbearer, Dr. Bawumia is currently campaigning in Donkorkrom.

He is one of ten competitors in the race, which also includes nine other hopefuls.

A meeting of the party’s superdelegates is scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 26, 2023, in order to narrow the field of potential candidates down to five individuals in advance of the party’s primary elections on Saturday, November 4, 2023.
