Gloria Owusu, a member of parliament from Trobu, questioned why Vice President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang is still not part of President Mahama’s administration even after she has recovered.
Concerns have been raised by Gloria Owusu, the member of parliament for the Trobu constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), regarding Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang’s absence from the administration of President John Dramani Mahama.
The Member of Parliament stated that she had communicated with the Vice President and attested to her recovery from her recent illness. But according to Gloria Owusu, Mahama’s administration has marginalised Professor Naana Jane.
In an April 25, 2025, interview with Oyerepa TV, Owusu claimed that there were rumours that President Mahama intended to name a new vice president.
The president was also chastised by her for not fulfilling his pledge to provide women with at least 30% of government jobs.
And she went on:
After forcing the woman to leave his administration, the president now wishes to name a different person to be Ghana’s vice president. What sounds are we hearing? Is that accurate?
I want to know where Professor Naana Jane is. Professor Naana Jane, where are you? The woman is doing great, I promise. She is fine, according to some of us who talk to her. That’s why I’m asking: has John Dramani Mahama, our president, taken advantage of the women and abandoned them? Is that accurate?
Vice President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has recovered from her illness and will soon resume her duties, President Mahama recently reassured the nation.
