We don’t want you again; is it force to serve us? – Isaac Adongo blasts Ken Ofori-Atta
Isaac Adongo, a member of parliament representing Bolgatanga Central for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has approached Ken Ofori-Atta, the Minister of Finance, with a request for him to respectfully quit his position and make way for someone with new ideas to take over.
Mr. Adongo, while contributing to the debate on the report by the ad hoc committee of Parliament that investigated allegations against the Finance Minister on Thursday, stated that the majority of Ghanaians do not want Mr. Ofori-Atta to continue as the Finance Minister and called on NPP MPs to ensure that the Minister is removed from office.
Mr. Adongo made his comments while contributing to the debate on the report by the ad hoc committee of Parliament that probed allegations against the Finance Minister.
On Thursday, December 8, 2022, a tough-talking MP said on the House Floor, “We voted for you, and we’re saying we don’t want you anymore; it’s not by force that you have to serve us; just go. He said.
He continued by saying that the information that has been gathered against Mr. Ofori-Atta is irrefutable and that it is imperative that the Parliament do the right thing and remove the Finance Minister from his office.
Dr. Dominic Ayine, who was also one of the co-chairmen of the ad hoc committee, asserted that irrefutable proof of misbehavior had been produced against Ken Ofori-Atta.
On Thursday, while delivering his remarks on the floor of Parliament, the Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga East called for a vote to be held in private to determine what would happen with the Finance Minister.

Even though Mr. Ofori-Atta was cleared of some of the accusations that were leveled against him, the evidence that was revealed at the committee hearing is, in his opinion, sufficient for the Minister to be removed from his position.
However, one of the co-chairmen of the committee, K.T. Hammond, disagreed with his colleague and stated that the committee had not reached any conclusions or made any recommendations about the Finance Minister.
