Uniformed policewoman celebrates with NPP after party secures top spot on ballot

Following the New Patriotic Party (NPP) emerging top on the presidential balloting for the December 7, 2024 elections, a uniformed police officer has been seen rejoicing among party members.

The officer is shown in a queue of people wearing NPP clothing dancing and celebrating the number one ballot position while yelling, “He is number one, vote for him,” in a viral video that is making the rounds on social media.

The incident happened on Friday, September 20, 2024, at the Electoral Commission’s headquarters following their balloting on presidential candidates.

The episode has sparked questions regarding the objectivity of security staff in managing circumstances requiring their intervention in the forthcoming elections.

On the occurrence, the police service still releases no official correspondence, though.

After the party earns top place on the presidential ballot, the Policewoman celebrates with NPP supporters.

Positions on the 2024 presidential ballot

The first place on the voting paper went to NPP flag bearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
