Residents Rush to Scoop Fuel from a Somersaulted Fuel Tanker at Kyekyewere in the Eastern Region
There was a mad rush for ‘free’ fuel for residents at Kyekyewere in the Eastern Region in the early hours of Friday,9 December 20022. A huge number of people were seen which containers, barrels, pan and other liquid containing material to scoop fuel from falling fuel tanker.
It is not yet disclosed the fuel company whose tanker was involved in the accident. According to sources, the accident occurred at the dawn around 4am. Residents who first chanced on the accident, went to draw the attention of other residents.
This is not the first time residents result to scoop from fallen fuel tankers, it has occurred on numerous occasion and Ghanaians have been warned to fend away from such incidents. This advice did not sit well with people of Kyekyewere.
It could be recalled that, a similar accident occurred and people got burnt as they were fetching fuel when the fuel caught fire and exploded.
