Police investigate viral video over death of gospel musician’s brother

The Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) is looking into a video that has gone viral in which a woman says that a police officer treated her badly.

The woman says her name is Perpetual Didier and that she is a gospel musician. She says that her brother Shadrach Eku died on Monday after being roughed up by a police officer at the West Hills Mall.

She mentioned that her brother, who was 32 years old at the time, was going to embark on a trip on Tuesday, January 31, and that he had gone to the mall to get some items for himself.

However, a fight broke out between him and a cop when the officer requested to investigate the shopping bag he was carrying.

On Tuesday, January 31, the police department released a statement announcing that investigations had commenced and that Madam Perpetual Didier had been called to provide assistance.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Victor Dosoo, who released the statement on behalf of the Director of Public Affairs, ensured that a comprehensive investigation will be carried out into the case. The Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) was the one who issued the statement.
