Nicholas Sommerlad: Who is Sinead O’Connor’s Second Husband?

Irish singer and composer Sinéad O’Connor is known internationally. Her first studio album, titled The Lion and the Cobra, was published in 1987 and was successful on the worldwide charts. Her single “Nothing Compares 2 U,” which was released in 1990, was ranked as the number one world hit by the Billboard Music Awards.

The marriage between Nicholas Sommerlad and Sinéad O’Connor lasted for a total of two years. After first meeting in July 2000, they went out on dates for a year before getting married on July 7, 2001. After two years, in February 2004, they finalized their divorce.

 

On July 22, 2010, O’Connor married Steve Cooney, a longtime friend and colleague of hers; the couple separated in late March 2011, after having been married for the third time.

Her fourth marriage was to an Irish psychotherapist by the name of Barry Herridge. They tied the knot in Las Vegas on December 9, 2011, but their marriage was dissolved after they “lived together for only 7 days,” according to the court documents.

The next week, on January 3, 2012, O’Connor made a series of internet comments in which she said that she and her ex-boyfriend had made amends with one another. On July 18, 2015, her first grandchild, Jake Reynolds, and his fiancée, Lia, welcomed their first child into the world.
