After that, she ran for the seat of Nairobi Women’s Representative in the 2017 General Election, but she was defeated by Rachel Shebesh in the Jubilee Party primaries. She later ran for another seat.

Millicent Omanga did not give up despite the defeat, and the Jubilee Party eventually put her forward for a nomination to the Senate.

Since then, she has been elected to serve as a senator, and the contributions that she has made to the Senate have garnered recognition not only in Kenya but also internationally.

Millicent Omanga’s primary focuses have been championing the rights of women and children, promoting the independence of young people, and advocating for improved healthcare services throughout the nation.

Millicent Omanga is a married woman, and her husband, Dr. Francis Nyamiobo, is a physician. The happy couple now has two children, a boy named Wayne and a girl named Maya. She adheres to the teachings of the Bible and is a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
