Mahama to deliver first SONA

President John Dramani Mahama is scheduled to give his first State of the Nation address on Thursday, February 27, 2025.

Mahama Ayariga, the majority leader, revealed this in Parliament on Friday, February 21.

On Thursday, February 20, Felix Ofosu Kwakye, Minister of State in charge of government communications, stated that the President would use this opportunity to “delve deeply into our current economic situation, what we inherited, and the plans moving forward to ensure economic revival” in order to meet this constitutional requirement.

Mr Ofosu Kwakye also revealed at a media briefing following the administration’s first cabinet meeting that the National Economic Dialogue will take place on March 3rd and 4th, with numerous stakeholders anticipated to convene and debate issues aimed at improving the country’s economy.

He noted that the Finance Minister, Ato Forson, will deliver the administration’s first budget on March 11th, which will describe government policies concerning the economy and provide actions to be implemented to solve the current economic issues.
