Former President John Dramani Mahama and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, flagbearers of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP), respectively, will submit their nominations at the Electoral Commission (EC) today, Monday, September 9, so they may run in the general elections this year.
Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the NDC’s National Chairman, will present the documents on John Mahama’s behalf.
Mr. Mahama said on his Facebook page “My nomination forms as Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), with Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang as Vice Presidential Candidate, will be formally filed to the Electoral Commission on Monday at 2.00 pm.
“A crucial first step in our December 7 campaign for change is the submission of the forms by Johnson Asiedu Nketia, our national chairman. Working with Ghanaians, we are all in this together, “Build the Ghana we want together” and RESET Ghana’s economy.
Dr. Bawumia would be accompanied by his Running Mate, Vice Presidential Candidate, Hon. Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the Party National Chairman and General Secretary, the Majority Leader in Parliament, and a select Party Leaders.
“After filing his presidential nomination, the Presidential Candidate would be addressing party sympathizers and the general public at the Party’s National Headquarters at 9:00am,,” a statement released by NPP General Secretary Justin Kodua said. Mr. Frimpong spoke.
