Dag Heward-Mills, the founder and general overseer of Lighthouse Chapel International, has voiced his disapproval of the custom of musicians requesting payment after performing in churches.

Dag Heward-Mills is seen talking to his congregation in a video that has gone viral on social media, emphasising that he opposes paying churchgoers to perform musical numbers.

“Be wary of those who act in ways that are motivated by money. Since I play every instrument in my church, I declared that I would not pay anyone to play any other instruments. He said, “I play guitar, piano, and drums.”

The well-known preacher claimed that he started a music school in his church to teach members, especially kids, how to play instruments because he was unhappy with this practice.

“I organised a music school where all of the kids in the church are required to learn how to play the piano. All of the kids at my church can now play the piano.

“No one is allowed to harass us in church by requesting payment before we sing. It’s absurd. Because you love Jesus, we don’t have to pay here. “Go if not,” he emphasised.

His remarks follow similar thoughts made by Christ Embassy General Overseer Pastor Chris Oyakhilome.

According to his latest criticism, no one has exploited the church more than secular singers who started their careers in the church.
