The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has denied that Richard Nii Armah Quaye, the founder of Bills Micro Credit Ltd,’s bank accounts were frozen.

This follows claims that the authority took enforcement action against Mr. Richard Armah Quaye.

The GRA issued a press statement on Thursday, March 27, 2025, clarifying that a tax assessment of GH₵30 million has been raised against Quaye, but no enforcement action, including account blocking, has been taken.

“The Authority has issued an assessment on him relating to his income taxes, but we have not commenced any enforcement action such as freezing his bank accounts,” according to a statement.

The GRA advised the public to dismiss the misleading allegations and informed them that it uses due process when dealing with tax assessments. The authority emphasised that enforcement procedures, such as account garnishments, are only taken when taxpayers refuse to cooperate after assessments have been issued.

Furthermore, the GRA encouraged all eligible taxpayers to voluntarily reveal their income and pay their taxes in order to avoid penalties, interest, and other legal implications.

Meanwhile, the authority has reaffirmed its commitment to fairness, integrity, and transparency in tax administration, assuring the public that it will follow due process in all instances pertaining to tax compliance.
