In 2018, the president, Akuffo Addo converted the colleges of Education from diploma-awarding institutions into degrees.
This initiative according to the president was in line with the new educational reforms that prioritize quality teacher education. The initiative saw prospective teachers enrolled in the colleges begin the degree programs in 2018.
Through thick and thongs, the first batch has graduated successfully. Among other colleges is Wiawso College of Education located in the Western North Region whose students were jubilating for the successful completion of the program. Some of the students in an interview with 2rvisionnews disclosed that they have really worked hard to complete it.
They revealed that, since they are the first batch, some of their activities with regard to courses were not favorable.
They are mandated to observe 1-year national service before they are posted into their field of profession.
They will sit for the licensure examination next year.
Congratulations to all teacher trainees across the country.
