CHRAJ clears Rev. Kusi Boateng of dual identity

The Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) has cleared Reverend Victor Kusi Boateng, Secretary to the National Cathedral Board of Trustees, of allegations of holding dual passports under different identities.

In January 2023, North Tongu MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa petitioned CHRAJ to investigate Rev. Kusi Boateng on allegations of conflict of interest, numerous identities, and other improprieties.

The petition also questioned a transfer of GH¢2.6 million from the National Cathedral Secretariat to JNS Talent Centre Limited, a corporation affiliated with Rev. Kusi Boateng under his alternate name, Kwabena Adu Gyamfi.

According to CHRAJ’s investigation, Rev. Kusi Boateng, also known as Kwabena Adu Gyamfi, has a single passport using the latter name.

It found no evidence to back up the claim that a second passport was granted under the name Kusi Boateng.

CHRAJ found that the GH¢2.6 million payment to JNS Talent Centre was not for services delivered.

Instead, it was a repayment to Rev. Kusi Boateng, who had advanced payments to contractors working on the National Cathedral project while the Secretariat was experiencing financial difficulties.

The Commission decided there was no basis for allegations of financial fraud or assertions of dual identity.
