Davis Ansah Opoku, a member of Parliament for Mpraeso, has revealed that Dr. Bryan Acheampong, a former Minister of Food and Agriculture and Member of Parliament for Abetifi, is preparing to run for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer position in the 2028 general elections.
He told Channel One TV’s Citiuation Room that Acheampong is determined to run for office as soon as the party opens nominations, even if the official announcement hasn’t been made yet.
“I think the committee is finishing its report, but I can tell you for sure that he is going to run, and the people of Ghana will hear from him very soon,” he said.
Opoku said that Acheampong is a great leader and has a strategic mind. He said that Acheampong can lead the country to progress and get the right people to work together.
“Bryan Acheampong has what it takes to move Ghana forward, and he can gather the people and resources needed to do so.” He has a clearer vision, and we hope to let Ghanaians know about it very soon, especially the NPP delegates, so that they will think about him during the next election.
