Wiawso College of Education has emerged winner in the 2025 pedagogical excellence and academic prowess competition among teacher training colleges in the Western, Western North, and Central regions.

The Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana (TTAG) organised the tournament to examine trainee teachers’ pedagogical knowledge and instructional skills at various colleges of education.

Wiawso College of Education displayed exceptional expertise, earning the top spot with a score of 34 points. They were closely followed by Foso College of Education, which scored 32 points.

Other colleges that took part included Bia Lamplighter College of Education (24 points), Enchi College of Education (27 points), Komenda College of Education (25 points), Holy Child College of Education (22 points), and Ola College of Education (18 points).

This exceptional achievement demonstrates the devotion and commitment of Wiawso College of Education’s students, instructors, and administrators. Their constant pursuit of academic excellence and pedagogical innovation has established them as the region’s top institution for teacher education.

The TTAG WEC Sector Pedagogy Challenge provides an important platform for encouraging healthy competition, sharing effective teaching techniques, and improving the overall quality of teacher education in Ghana.
