WWE Survivor Series War Games Gets a Shake up Again: What are the New Rules
Tonight, the long-running competition known as “Survivor Series” will undergo a significant change in order to keep up with the times after 35 years of existence.
In spite of its famed tenure as one of the company’s Big Four premium live events and the frequently entertaining traditional five-on-five elimination tag fights, the program has faltered in recent years as a result of a forced concentration on “brand warfare.”
After enjoying tremendous success as a one-off event for NXT, the War Games tournament, which is commonly stylized as “WarGames,” has now been incorporated into the main roster of WWE as a means of effecting positive change.
On paper, there is a lot to get excited about, including two main events that will draw the most attention, as well as a terrific undercard. But how does it all work?
Earlier in the year, WWE president Paul “Triple H” Levesque gave a hint about the upcoming WarGames matches by saying in an interview with The Ringer that “We’ll have a men’s WarGames match and a women’s WarGames match.”
The tradition of the Survivor Series has gone through ups and downs and undergone some minor adjustments throughout the years, but this will be quite comparable to that.
“Raw will not be facing SmackDown in this match.” It will focus considerably more on the narrative of events. Because it involves large teams of individuals fighting against one another, I continue to consider it a classic aspect of the Survivor Series. WarGames is an example of how we just stepped it up a notch and allowed it to progress.
The following is important information regarding the actual matches themselves:
WWE Survivor Series War Games Gets a Shake up Again: What are the New Rules
- The two teams are separated by a cage, and the first round of the competition is started by a single player from each squad.
- After a period of five minutes, a participant from the advantageous team is allowed inside the enclosure.
- After a wait of three minutes, a competitor from the less fortunate side is allowed to enter the ring.
- Alternating members from each team will enter the cage at three-minute intervals until all ten Superstars are contained within the cage.
- The WarGames will officially begin once all ten competitors are inside the cage.
