Words Mahama used to describe some NDC MPs for Approving Akuffo Addo nominees; check it out

Former President John Mahama has expressed his displeasure with what he referred to as “betrayal” on the part of some NDC Members of Parliament.

This comes after a number of ministerial nominees were given the green light.

A vote of confidence was held in the House of Representatives on Friday, and it resulted in the approval of six nominees for ministerial positions.

Hon. Kobina Tahir Hammond, Adansi Asokwa MP, was approved to serve as Minister for Trade and Industry with 154 votes in favor and 116 votes against. Dr. Stephen Amoah, Adansi Asokwa MP, was approved to serve as Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry after receiving 146 votes in favor and 123 votes against.

Bryan Acheampong, a member of parliament representing Abetifi, received 167 yes votes and was subsequently appointed to the position of Minister of Food and Agriculture.

With 152 votes in favor, Mohammed Amin Adam, a member of parliament representing Karaga, was given the green light to take on the role of Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance.

As a result of receiving 149 affirmative votes, Stephen Asamoah Boateng has been appointed to the position of Minister for Religious and Chieftaincy Affairs, and Mr. Osei Bonsu Amoah has been appointed to the position of Minister of State in the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development.

This result completely shook the Minority to its core, and some of its members were accused of being treacherous and greedy.

A member of parliament for North Tongu named Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa made the statement that “there is no knife that cuts so sharply and with such a poisoned blade as treachery.”

As a response to this, the previous president has demanded that the Members of Parliament (MPs) who “betrayed” their side engage in “some serious soul searching.”

Unfortunately, Ghanaians were sorely disappointed yesterday when several members of the Minority for some parochial and personal interest voted against the principled position adopted by the party.
I am also disappointed. Those responsible for this betrayal must do some serious soul searching and learn to place national interest over personal interest the presidential candidate for the NDC wrote on his Facebook page.
