29-year-old Mary Alexandra Earps was born in Nottingham, England, on March 7, 1993. She is the child of Martha and Walter Earps. Between 2012 and 2016, Earps got a degree in information management and business studies from Loughborough University.

Earps participated in all but one of Bristol’s games in the 2014 and 2015 seasons. Earps left Bristol to join Reading after Bristol was demoted at the conclusion of her second season. Earps received PFA Team of the Year recognition in her first year at Reading.

In June 2018, Mary Earps joined VfL Wolfsburg, the Bundesliga’s reigning champions. In the second round of the DFB-Pokal on September 8, 2018, she made her debut with an 11-0 victory over Hannover 96. During the 2018–19 season, the squad captured its third consecutive domestic double.

After spending one season in Germany, Earps returned to England on July 12, 2019, to sign with newly promoted Manchester United in advance of the 2019–20 campaign. United lost 1-0. On September 28, 2019, she recorded her first clean sheet for the team in a 2-0 victory over Liverpool, the team’s first FA WSL triumph. Earps renegotiated his contract with Manchester United on February 26, 2021, extending it until 2023 with an additional year’s option.

In Antalya, Turkey, during the 2012 UEFA Women’s Under-19 Championship, Mary Earps represented England’s under-19 team.
