Gaudenzio Bernasconi was an Italian football player who also coached the sport at the top level. Bernasconi had a successful club career in Italy's Serie A, playing for Atalanta B.C. and U.C. Sampdoria, with whom he made a combined 388 appearances over the course of 13 seasons. Gaudenzio is the third player on the Sampdoria roster to have the most appearances.

Gaudenzio made his first appearance for the Italian national team on April 25, 1956.Italy took on Brazil on the day when Bernasconi made his first appearance as coach. Over the course of three years, Gaudenzio earned a total of six caps for Italy.

Unfortunately, Gaudenzio has recently passed away. Bernasconi passed away on January 10, 2023, despite having been born on August 8, 1932. When Gaudenzio passed away, he had lived a full life and had reached the age of 90. Gaudenzio was born in the town of Ponte San Pietro, which is located within the Bergamo province.
