Jason David Frank was born on September 4 in Covina, California, and his legacy is still present in both the Black Belt Hall of Fame and the World Karate Union Hall of Fame.
Frank was an eighth-degree black belt in karate and had expertise in a number of other martial arts, including Taekwondo, Judo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Muay Thai. Frank met Kyoshi Rick Herbster after “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” was over, and they went on to work together for many years. Together, they established Rising Sun Karate Academy, where Frank spent the rest of his life teaching.
Frank made his mixed martial arts debut in 2010 in the first-ever “Lonestar Beatdown” of the U.S. Amateur Combat Association in Houston, Texas, where he defeated MMA competitor Jonathan “the Mack Truck” Mack in the first round. A year before the match, UFC lightweight Melvin Guillard began to instruct him in mixed martial arts.
Frank most recently had a role in an upcoming movie by filmmaker Aaron Schoenke. The movie, titled “Legend of the White Dragon,” would follow Frank as the title character.
