Nana Boadi Amponim Abodade III, the Krontihene of Akyem Asoum, has issued a blistering indictment of Ghana’s current situation, calling it as one of hardship and incompetence under President Akufo-Addo’s administration.
In an interview with GHOne TV, he complained that the country had been “stripped naked” by looters, leaving it bleeding and in desperate need of help.
“Ghana has been stripped naked; mother Ghana is bleeding,” Nana Boadi said.
He compared the nation’s plight to the biblical tale of the Good Samaritan in Luke 10:29, emphasizing the importance of redemption and restoration.
“The robbers have taken all of the stuff. But a Good Samaritan has arrived to save her, place her in a healthy and happy condition, and retrieve the loot that the bandits stole.”
Nana Boadi voiced hope for former President John Mahama’s possible return to power, calling it as divine intervention.
“We thank God that the good Lord is about to give the mantle to President John Mahama,” he stated, emphasizing how Mahama’s leadership might help revitalize the country’s fortunes.
Krontihene of Akyem Asoum criticized President Akufo-Addo’s administration for missing chances and bad governance, which he saw as defining characteristics.
“He had so much revenue, so much he could have done for this country, but he failed,” he said with sadness.
The chief revealed that many traditional leaders share his views on the outgoing administration.
“A good friend of mine, who is also a chief, once told me, ‘Let’s see if he will come around and tell chiefs to wake up to greet him.'” “It’s not a good legacy,” he explained.
Nana Boadi stated her wish for improved governance in the future.
“We pray we don’t get another Akufo-Addo to be president of Ghana,” he told us.
