When US President Joe Biden met with various leaders from African countries during the US-Africa summit in December, the United States made clear its interest in the continent.

U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and First Lady Jill Biden have both recently traveled to various parts of Africa in an effort to strengthen bilateral ties. This comes as China and Russia continue to expand their influence on the continent.
