The Chiefs and Queen Mothers of the Sunyani Traditional Council have declared that “now is the moment that God has appointed for Alan Kyerematen to be president of Ghana.”

The Akwamuhene of the Sunyani Traditional Area, Nana Kwaku Sarbeng, stated that he admires Alan for the patience and wisdom with which he has conducted himself ever since he conceded to let the then-candidate Nana Akufo-Addo go ahead of him for a shot at the presidency. Nana Akufo-Addo is currently the President of Ghana.

Now, the traditional council considers that it is the ideal time for Hon. Alan to take the country’s leadership and has encouraged NPP delegates to pick their candidate for the general elections in 2014 when they go to primaries later in the year. This decision will be made by the NPP.

Alan asked the Chiefs to tell the delegates to pick a flagbearer who would be liked by people all over the country.

“The nation is expecting a turnaround based on a huge vision to be implemented with competence,” he added. “The public is expecting a turnaround based on a big vision.”

Hon. Alan advocated for a shift away from an excessive dependence on the government to construct industries and so generate employment, and toward a method that is more effective in enabling the private sector to produce work for the people.

It was noted by Hon. Alan that, while serving as Minister for Trade and Industry under President JA Kufuor, he was the one who initiated the Presidential Special Initiatives (PSI) in four different sectors of the economy.

These initiatives had the potential to bring in over $60 billion per year for the country, but they were terminated after the NDC, the successor government to the NPP, took power in 2008.

Alan urged Ghanaians to ensure an NPP in 2024 to consolidate the progress made under the current government.

These advancements include the large industrial transformation project under the 1D1F, the Business Resource Centers, which produce well-rounded entrepreneurs, the Technology Support Centers, which provide modern cutting-edge tools, and Free SHS and TVET, amongst other advancements.

All of these initiatives have now taken advantage of AfCFTA, which is now making people describe Accra as the “commercial center of Africa,” Mr. Kyerematen said, and he urged Nananom to help the delegates make a good decision and select him as the candidate to continue the transformation on the foundation that the NPP government has built. AfCFTA came about as a result of the NPP government’s decision to build.

Nananom stated that they envisioned President Nana Addo passing the presidency on to Alan in the same way that they envisioned President Kufuor passing the presidency on to President Nana Addo.

They went on to give Alan more advice, telling him to change his motto to “Alan Cash, Aduro wo so,” because there was no question that God was on his side.
