Stonebwoy, a reggae and dancehall musician, has rehashed his fight with Shatta Wale at the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
During an interview on The Breakfast Club on the Power FM radio station in New York City, he said that he has always been protective, especially when he is being attacked.
Consequently, when Shatta Wale attempted to ascend the VGMA stage with a crew while Stonebwoy got his award, the songwriter of the popular song “Everlasting” stated that he was not going to stand by idly and allow it to happen.
“Naturally, I am eager to defend myself, and we have been beefing for many years. He stated, “I don’t even know where it is coming from, but that brother moved at that time and attacked everybody.” “I don’t even know where it is stemming from.”
Stonebwoy continued by saying, “To go on that stage to do whatever was not something we were going to tolerate, and if he came alone, then we could possibly understand.” Stonebwoy was referring to the fact that the audience would not accept anything the performer did while on stage.
A fight that took place between Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale during the 2019 edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards resulted in both of them being permanently disqualified from future competition in the awards show.
When Shatta Wale attempted to come onto the platform, the “Activate” hitmaker was already on stage, accepting the reggae/dancehall artist award for the sixth time in a row.
It was unclear why he had gone, which was especially puzzling given that he had migrated with other members of the Shatta Movement. He had also been engaged in a feud with Stonebwoy, which is why people were taken aback by his behavior.
After some time had passed, a fight broke out, and Stonebwoy pulled out a revolver. After some time, Shatta Wale said that he was going to tell Stonebwoy that he was happy for him.
In the meanwhile, as a result of the fight, the former lovers who had competed against one another before were both requested to return the plaques that had been presented to them as awards that they had earned earlier in the evening.
A decision has been made internally by the board that the prohibition on Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy will be lifted before the 2021 broadcast of the show.
However, neither of them turned in any work during that particular year. Stoneboy did submit his work in 2022, and he ended up winning the award for Reggae Dancehall Artist of the Year. Shatta Wale did not do so.
