These 7 countries will literally pay you to marry their women

Some countries are so desperate to increase their population that they are essentially paying people to marry and have children.

Yes, you read that correctly: love and cash benefits in one bundle!

From monetary awards to housing benefits, these seven countries are implementing incentives to make marriage (and childbearing) a national priority. So, if you’re single and looking to meet people from all over the world, this is the place to go.

  1. China: Cash for Commitment.
Gender inequality in China is serious. Following years of the one-child policy, the country today has millions more males than women, making marriage a highly competitive sport.

To address the population crisis, some local governments are providing cash incentives, tax rebates, and even subsidized homes to couples who marry and have children. It’s not quite a’marry now, get rich’ program, but every little bit counts!

  1. Hungary: Love Comes with a Loan (That Disappears!)
Hungary takes the ‘ marriage incentive’ game to a new level. If you’re under 40 and getting married for the first time, the government will give you a $30,000 interest-free loan.

But here’s the kicker: if you have three children, you’ll never have to repay it! If that doesn’t inspire you to settle down and create a family, we don’t know what does.

  1. Italy: Marry, Move, and Get Paid.
Italy is known for its romance, but what if we told you it might also be financially rewarding? With fertility rates lower than ever, some regions are providing financial incentives to couples who marry and relocate to rural areas.

Consider this: gorgeous views, excellent pasta, and additional cash in your pocket. What is not to love?

  1. Iceland: The Small but Generous Nation.
Iceland may not have an official marry our women’s
fund, but the government does provide some significant benefits for those who settle down and start a family.

The government is committed to assisting increasing families through tax cuts and housing assistance. Furthermore, because of the tiny population, you have a better chance of standing out and meeting ‘The One’.

  1. Estonia: Where Love Comes with a Bonus.
Estonia may not be the first destination that springs to mind when you think of romance, yet the country provides considerable parental benefits, cash incentives, and prolonged leave to new parents.

So, if you’re looking for a new adventure (and some financial benefits), Estonia might be the spot to say ‘I do’.

  1. Russia: Love and Land Grants.
Russia is so committed to raising its population that the government provides lump-sum payments to couples who marry and start families.

If you are truly committed (and have numerous children), you may even be eligible for a land grant! That’s right, marry, have children, and claim your own piece of Russian soil. That’s not a horrible deal, right?

  1. Denmark: The ‘Do It for Denmark’ Campaign
Denmark’s population is falling, and the government is unhappy about it. While they do not pay you directly to marry, they do provide considerable parental benefits, tax breaks, and childcare assistance. They even ran the well-known ‘Do It for Denmark’ campaign, which encouraged couples to take vacations (hint wink) to boost the birth rate. Cheeky but effective!

Love or money? Why not both?
While these government incentives are appealing, marriage should still be about love, not simply cashing in on state advantages.

But who can complain if romance and money benefits come as a combined deal? If you’re thinking about settling down, an international love story might be your best chance – with an added advantage.
