Politician and entertainment critic Sadiq Abdulai Abu, also known as Baba Sadiq, has been taken to court by Afro-dancehall superstar Livingstone Etse Satekla, aka Stonebwoy, due to remarks the politician made on his X page (previously known as Twitter).
The winner of Ghanaian Artist of the Year, Baba Sadiq, is requesting that the court order him to remove the offending tweets and provide Stonebwoy an unconditional apology in a writ filed in the High Court of Justice on May 31, 2024.
Additionally, Stonebwoy is requesting a GHS 3 million compensation from the court for the injury that the tweets have done to his reputation, claiming that Baba Sadiq behaved intentionally and with the intention of defaming Stonebwoy by publishing claims that he knew to be false.
The lawsuit does not come as a surprise to people who are aware of the facts surrounding the tweets. Observers on social media had expressed concern about Stonebwoy’s decision to ignore Sadiq’s disturbing comments, which suggested that Stonebwoy is a violent female abuser.
