Shatta Wale, a Ghanaian dancehall musician, has publicly denounced Raymond Archer, the head of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), following what he described as an “uncalled-for” raid on his home by armed EOCO officers.
In an angry Facebook post, the On God hitmaker said that EOCO raided his home with armed soldiers, a move he described as embarrassing and politically disastrous.
Raymond Archer, EOCO boss, you are going to drive NDC out of power for the next four years. It was inappropriate to bring guns to my house. The President of Ghana did not appoint you to degrade its citizenry… Remember, God, no sleep!
The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has verified that a luxury vehicle belonging to Ghanaian musician Shatta Wale was seized at the request of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the United States Department of Justice.
According to EOCO, the automobile was acquired fraudulently.
According to EOCO’s statement, Shatta Wale was present during the operation at his apartment and initially refused to hand over the vehicle. He eventually complied and relinquished the keys after being told of the circumstances surrounding the case.
The EOCO asserted that the action aligned with its legal jurisdiction under Ghana’s Proceeds of Crime Act.
The automobile is among the assets identified in a US court verdict that sentenced Richard Amuah to 64 months in jail and ordered him to pay more than $4 million in reparations to victims of his fraud.
“The vehicle has been duly secured and will be handed over to the United States authorities in accordance with the judgement issued by the US District Court,” the company stated in a press release.
The agency also reaffirmed its support for international law enforcement authorities and requested public participation as Ghana steps up efforts to recover criminal proceeds and combat money laundering.
Just one day before the musician’s outburst, on August 4, the Ghana Police Service announced through its Criminal Investigation Department (CID) that it had seized 43 high-value vehicles between January and July 2025.
The stolen vehicles, which included Rolls-Royce, Porsche, Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz models, were allegedly taken from Europe and North America and unlawfully smuggled into Ghana.
Shatta Wale’s extravagant lifestyle and high-end car collection, which includes a Rolls-Royce Cullinan costing over $500,000 and a Lamborghini Urus, are well-known.
EOCO’s raid also follows news that the FBI’s crackdown on internet scammers resulted in another arrest. The musician was one of many individuals associated with the recently jailed troubled business magnate Kofi Boat.
We are preparing the suspected scammer for extradition to the United States to face the law. Shatta Wale, on the other hand, insists that his pal Kofi Boat is not a scammer.
