The withdrawal of the Finance Bill 2024 marks a significant victory for the protesters and a shift in the government’s approach to addressing the public’s concerns. However, the underlying issues that sparked the unrest, such as the high cost of living and economic challenges, remain unresolved.

As the country begins to heal from the recent violence, the government must engage in meaningful dialogue with the opposition and civil society groups to find lasting solutions to the nation’s problems. The people of Kenya have demonstrated their resilience and determination to fight for their rights, and their voices must be heard.
