Road toll re-introduction: Here’s how much drivers are likely to pay

On Ghana's roads, motorists are preparing themselves for the reimposition of road tolls, which were previously abolished.

In November 2021, the tax was eliminated as part of what the Minister of Finance described as an initiative to lessen the flow of traffic and increase overall productivity.

The Minister has reversed his position after only a little over two years have passed.

Ken Ofori-Ata has returned to Parliament with a new proposal that seeks to reinstate the tax, albeit at a rate that is higher than the one that was previously proposed.

The new fees have been proposed by the Minister of Finance and are currently awaiting approval from Parliament.

According to the memo that was seen by MyJoyOnline.com, the proposal is for an increase of an aggregated average of 88.05 percent across the board.

The following is a list of the new prices that motorists can anticipate paying in the event that the House grants the request.
