Official nominations for District Chief Executive (DCE) positions nationwide have been made by President John Dramani Mahama.

The District Assemblies in question must now approve the nominations, which were made in compliance with Article 243(1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 20(1) of the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936), as amended.

The list of nominees is outlined in an official Office of the President Mahama statement dated April 4, 2025.

All news outlets have received a matching statement from Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim (MP), Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, verifying the nominations and calling attention to the list of candidates that is attached.

The various District Assemblies now have the final say over these appointments and must vote to accept or reject the nominees.
