Over 490 NPP Youth Organisers pick nomination forms for Bawumia

nomination forms

More than 490 New Patriotic Party (NPP) youth organisers, consisting of substantive and deputy youth leaders from constituencies around the country, have collected nomination forms for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia ahead of the party’s presidential primary in January 2026.

The group described Dr. Bawumia as the only candidate capable of leading the NPP to victory in the 2028 general election.

Their endorsement comes after a strategic meeting on July 29, 2025, where members from diverse constituencies cited his “exceptional leadership, proven track record, and vision for Ghana’s future” as reasons for their backing.

On Wednesday, August 13, youth organisers submitted the papers to Dr. Bawumia at his campaign office while shouting songs in support of his candidacy.

“We want you to use your rich ideas,” the group proclaimed.

Dr. Bawumia congratulated them, describing the action as a great display of confidence.

“The youth organisers of our party, 490 out of 552, approached me.

The leadership suggested that they organise their widows’ mite and select my nomination paperwork for me. I agreed since that was an incredible sign of confidence in me.

This morning, they honoured their promise by picking up the paperwork from the party’s headquarters and delivering it to me.

The kids are a valuable asset to our party and the nation. They represent the future. I’d like to thank them for this significant vote of confidence.

I am considering running for the NPP flagbearer position. I shall make a complete disclosure in that regard when I go to submit the form you have given me.”

He also asked party officials to maintain civility during the flagbearer campaign, avoiding insults and focussing on serious ideas.
