Mrs. Jean Adukwei Mensa, Chair of the Electoral Commission (EC), has reassured us that the procedures of submitting and reviewing the presidential nomination papers offered by the aspirants will be open and fair.
Similarly, she continued, the general election process will be fair, open, and peaceful.
She announced this following the Monday, September 9 submission of presidential nominations by New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to the commission in Accra.
She declared, “We do not doubt that the process will be transparent, fair, and peaceful,” following receipt of the forms.
She said, ” Indeed this is the first time a sitting Vice President has personally presented his nomination forms to the EC.”

For his part, Dr. Bawumia described his experience with form filling as unique.
