The office of Alan Kyerematen, the Movement for Change’s leader, has dismissed a letter circulating on social media that purported to be an appointment letter from the President’s office.
According to them, the letter appointing Mr Kyerematen as Acting Director for President John Mahama’s projected 24-hour Economy program is “false.”
In a statement issued on Friday, January 17, signed by Kwame Owusu Danso, Esq., Special Advisor on Communications to Alan Kyerematen, the office denounced the letter as a malicious invention designed to deceive the public.
The reported letter, which appeared to come from President John Dramani Mahama’s office, indicated that Mr Kyerematen would be in charge of establishing the 24-Hour Economy Board and Secretariat, which was a key pledge in the NDC’s 2024 manifesto.
It further claimed that the selection represents President Mahama’s commitment to inclusive administration that promotes and ensures economic development.
In light of this, Mr Kyerematen’s office has firmly rejected the letter and urged the public to disregard it completely.
“This blatant attempt to create confusion and misinformation will not be tolerated,” according to a statement.
“Please, treat this fake appointment letter with the contempt it deserves.”
The message also urged residents to be attentive and check information through trustworthy and official means to prevent the spread of misinformation.
