Nsoatreman FC withdraw from 2024/25 Ghana Premier League

Nsoatreman FC has notified its departure from the ongoing 2024/25 Ghana Premier League owing to worries about their players’ “security and safety”.

It is claimed that enraged supporters want to respond after Kotoko fan Francis Frimpong Pooley was stabbed to death during the Porcupines’ match against Nsoatreman on February 2.

This comes after an alleged attack by unknown persons in Kukuom, Ahafo Region, on Monday, when Nsoatreman FC went to face Samartex at Bibiani Duns Park.

The Nsoatre-based team claims it is “forced to take this decision” to guarantee the safety of its players.

Full statement below.

Nsoatreman is 14th in the league rankings with 21 points and will face Basake Holy Stars in their next match.

The Ghana FA has yet to react to the withdrawal.
