Mr. Ibu’s adopted daughter renames late actor’s TikTok account

Jasmine Okafor, the stepdaughter of Mr. Ibu, has taken over the over a million-follower Nollywood actor’s TikTok account barely 24 hours after his death.

With the exception of the videos in which she appeared, Jasmine Okafor has deleted all of the late actor’s videos and renamed the account under her own name.

After we checked the late actor’s Tiktok page on Sunday, the account was renamed to @LadyJasminec_live.

 

Jasmine Okafor renamed the actor’s account, as seen in a screenshot. According to our investigation, Jasmine Okafor has continued to use her personal account, @ladyjasminec, with 1.3 million followers.

It’s unknown why she did what she did. But it’s important to remember that Mr. Ibu’s adopted daughter opened the account for the actor some years ago and managed it on his behalf.

John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu died at the Evercare hospital in Lagos on Saturday, March 2 at age 62 after a long illness. His manager says he suffered a cardiac arrest on Saturday while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Lagos State, Nigeria.

The legendary actor has been battling health issues in October 2023, and undergone multiple surgeries that led to the amputation of his leg but received treatment and was discharged from hospital in early January this year. In October 2023, he came out publicly to seek financial assistance to treat his ailment.

Mr. Ibu until his death was an indigene of Nkanu West Lagos of Enugu State. He is survived by wife and three children
