Mohammed Kudus confident about winning African Footballer of the Year

Mohammed Kudus, a player for Ghana, claims he is on the verge of being named the CAF African Footballer of the Year.

After scoring 20 goals for club and country, Kudus is having his most prolific season to date. However, the 22-year-old has remained on the sidelines as he works his way back from an injury he sustained in the Dutch Cup match against Feyenoord.

Kudus was asked about his chances of winning the African Best Player Award on the most recent episode of the Ajax TV series Ask the Pro. The former star of Nordsjaelland voiced optimism about winning the prize in a few years.

“I will undoubtedly get selected one day since I think that everything is possible in this world,” he declared.

No Ghanaian has won the CAF award since Abedi Pele won it three times in a row in 1993; his son Andre Ayew came the closest in 2015.

Kudus made the 2023 Forbes Africa 30 Under 30 list as a result of his exploits during the 2022–2023 season.
