Matic exposes late training habits of Pogba and Sancho

During his time at Manchester United, Nemanja Matic disclosed that Paul Pogba and Jadon Sancho were habitually tardy for training.

Speaking to YuPlanet, Matic stated that while the players at Chelsea, where he previously played under Jose Mourinho, were usually more professional and on time, a small number of players, like Pogba and Sancho, were frequently late.

During one season, Matic, who also functioned as the self-appointed head of an internal disciplinary committee, kept a record of which players arrived late and collected fines totaling almost £75,000.

Matic stated, “At Chelsea, players behaved professionally, showed up on time, and never missed training; at United, it happened nearly every day.”

Paul Pogba, Jadon Sancho, and a few other players were among those who were notoriously tardy.

“The rest of us who were consistently on time were upset, so we formed an internal disciplinary committee, of which I would be the president.

“I pinned a sheet of paper to the wall and wrote down the names of people who were running late. We received fines totaling almost £75,000 in one season.

“Due to the COVID outbreak, we were unable to hold the party in London that we had planned to use the money for.”

This information clarifies the alleged lack of professionalism and discipline in the Manchester United team during Matic’s tenure. Particularly, Sancho has come under fire for his demeanor and attitude; there have been rumors that he frequently arrives late for training.

Manager Erik ten Hag removed him from first-team activities due to his poor form and provocative actions.
