March inflation drops to 45.0%

The annual rate of inflation came in at 45.0 percent for the month of March 2023, representing a considerable decline from previous years.

In comparison to the 52.8 percent that was recorded in February 2023, this implies a fall of 7.8 percentage points.

On Wednesday, the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) made the Consumer Price Index (CPI) figures available.They included this information.

According to the statistics, inflation related to food was at 50.8%, while inflation related to non-food was at 40.6%.

According to the Government Statistician, Professor Samuel Kobina Annim, the Western North registered the greatest inflation with 67.3 percent. This information comes from a regional perspective.

The inflation rate in the Volta area was the lowest, coming in at 25.6 percent.
