According to the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the plans of the Electoral Commission (EC) to use the Ghana Card as the only source document for voter registration would be met with intense opposition and would be thwarted.
John Mahama Sends Strong Warning to Jean Mensa and the EC
During a meeting of the Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN) held at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, John Dramani Mahama, the current flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress and a former president of Ghana, stated that his party would not allow itself to be exploited in any way.
In light of this, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) wishes to make it abundantly clear that we will resist and thwart any devious attempt by the Electoral Commission (EC) to rig the 2024 elections even before the first vote is cast by insisting that the superfluous and unapproved Ghana Card be the only way of registration.
The EC is still unyielding in their stance, and it appears that they have every intention of making it impossible for some people in our community to register to vote.
