President John Mahama swore in the second group of ministry nominees on Friday, January 24, 2025, after Parliament approved them.
The approval followed a thorough vetting procedure and prolonged debate before the Appointments Committee on January 23 and 24.
The swearing-in ceremony, conducted at Jubilee House, marked the official start of their vital government tasks.
The recently sworn-in ministers are Abla Dzifa Gomashie, Minister for Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, and George Opare Addo, Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment. Emelia Arthur is Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development; Ahmed Ibrahim is Minister of Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs; and Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare is Minister of Trade, Industry, and Agribusiness.
President Mahama emphasized the important roles these ministers play in achieving Ghana’s development goals.
He asked them to make transparency, inclusivity, and accountability a priority in their responsibilities, reminding them of Ghanaians’ expectations.
“Ghanaians have signaled zero tolerance for poor governance,” President Mahama said, adding that ministers must serve with dignity, respect, and a firm commitment to national success.
