Mahama makes another promise to Ghanaians

National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer John Dramani Mahama vows that if he is elected president again, he will not politicize state institutions like the judiciary and the Electoral Commission.

The former president promises to implement significant constitutional amendments to stop the politicization of these organizations.

“I will curtail the excessive politicization of our institutions—the judiciary, the electoral commission, and other independent constitutional bodies—through major constitutional reforms,” he wrote on his X platform.

Mr Mahama further promised to provide a lean government.

“We will also rein in the phenomenon of bloated government and replace it with a much leaner one.

“Attendant governance costs, like payment of utility bills, fuel, and ex-gratia payments, will be canceled,” he said

Mr. Mahama has pledged to establish a lean government.
