In the days leading up to the primaries of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), former President John Dramani Mahama has renewed his calls for party members to come together in harmony.
It is anticipated that the opposition NDC will hold its presidential and parliamentary elections on Saturday, May 13, 2019. These elections would allow the party to elect parliamentary candidates as well as a flagbearer to compete on the party’s ticket in the general elections of 2024.
These remarks were made at Bimbilla as part of Mr. John Dramani Mahama’s campaign tour of the Northern Region. Mr. Mahama is running for re-election as a candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
“Since everybody has their own fans, there’s no point in claiming that this person was rooting for the victorious side, so we’ll just sit this one out.” After the primaries, Mr. Mahama encouraged those affiliated with the NDC to work together and support one another.
After losing to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in both the 2016 and 2020 national elections, former President John Mahama, who served as president for only one term, is attempting to regain his position as head of state.
