Lies about economy won’t win you 2024 polls – NPP blasts NDC

The New Patriotic Party (NPP), which is now in power in Ghana, has cautioned its opposition counterpart, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), to be truthful in its evaluations of the country’s current financial state.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is of the opinion that, despite the fact that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has done an excellent job of managing Ghana’s economy, the NDC has developed a habit of hiding the government’s economic gains by using dishonest tactics.

This is a practice that the NPP wants the NDC to stop doing, as the NPP believes that it has become a habit for the NDC.

In a speech that he gave on Tuesday, the National Chairman of the NPP, Stephen Ntim, stated that the NDC’s ambition for power cannot be satisfied by lies.

“In order to achieve its goal of power, the NDC must give up both its habit of lying and its tactic of lying.” These tactics may be effective in the short term, but they can have serious repercussions in the long run for democracy, public confidence, and, last but not least, the way the rest of the world views and interacts with our cherished nation of Ghana, he explained.

The New Patriotic Party also says that the NDC’s strategy won’t work to get the government to stop trying to improve the economy of the country.

“As we get to the close of this conversation, I would want to offer the NDC the following bit of advice through you: The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has a holy responsibility, as a political party, to be honest and open with Ghanaians in all areas,” he continued to add.

Stephen Ntim thus urged party members to contribute to the NPP’s efforts to promote its goodwill.

“I am making an appeal to the rank and file of the NPP to come up and mobilize behind our government in order to combat the assault of lies coming from the NDC.

This means that everyone in the New Patriotic Party (NPP), starting at the polling stations and working our way up, needs to become a communicator and canvasser to help get the false information that the New Democratic Party (NDC) is spreading out of the minds of Ghanaians.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has praised the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration for its careful management of Ghana’s economy, despite the fact that it implemented the historic Debt Exchange Program and sought a bailout from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Stephen Ntim echoed the claims that the current crippling economic crisis is due to the effects of COVID-19 and the effects of the Russia-Ukraine War and not the incompetence of the economic management team, as propagated by the opposition National Democratic Congress.

COVID-19 and the effects of the Russia-Ukraine War have been blamed for the crisis.

“The simple fact of the matter is that this administration has handled the economy with care and competence. The epidemic of the COVID-19 virus and the war between Russia and Ukraine are causing difficulties for people all over the world, including those that we are experiencing in Ghana.

Because of unprecedented levels of inflation around the world, workers in some of the largest economies in the world are calling for pay raises.
