Kumawu by-election: NPP will win 90% of the votes – Ahiagbah

Richard Ahiagbah, who serves as the Director of Communications for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has predicted that the NPP will receive more than 90 percent of the votes cast in the impending by-elections for the Kumawu constituency.

Mr. Ahiagbah hinted, while appearing on Eyewitness News on Citi FM, that the massive development that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has commissioned in the constituency will propel it past its competitors, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), and the other interested parties in the race to replace the late Philip Basoah, who went to be with his maker in March after a brief illness. Philip Basoah passed away in March.

In addition, he refuted rumors that the present road development projects that are occurring in the constituency are an attempt to buy votes.

He added that the processes for the development had already been started by the government, months before the untimely passing of the Kumawu member in March.

“These processes had been put in place, and everything was supposed to start in March, but it was left with contractor selection and other related issues, and eventually, the people selected a contractor, and so it was a question of timing, and the unfortunate incident involving our brother, Basoah, happened just before this whole thing started.”

In the National Patriotic Party’s internal elections, Ernest Yaw Anim was chosen to represent the party in the by-election that will take place on May 23, 2023.
