Kotoko fan Nana Pooley to be laid to rest today

Yaw Frimpong, also known as ‘Nana Pooley,’ an Asante Kotoko fan who was tragically killed after being stabbed during a Ghana Premier League match, will be laid to rest today, Thursday, March 6, 2025.

The funeral will be held at Heroes Park, Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, with family, friends, football administrators, and supporters gathering to say goodbye to the devoted Porcupine Warriors fan.

Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku has arrived in Kumasi, where he will lead a high-powered delegation of Executive Council members, Regional Football Association Chairmen, and club officials to pay their respects and offer solidarity to Asante Kotoko during this difficult time.

President Simeon-Okraku had already visited the club and the deceased family to express his sympathies.

The funeral is likely to draw football stakeholders and supporters from all over the country, as the Ghanaian football community mourns the loss of a devoted supporter.
