Charles Adu Boahen’s appointment as Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance was revoked by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo with immediate effect, as stated in the presidential proclamation.

The following is a documentary that was produced by the renowned investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas, and it is scheduled to have its world debut today at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).

“After being made aware of the allegations leveled against the Minister in the exposé, “Galamsey Economy,” the President spoke to Mr. Adu Boahen, after which he took the decision to terminate his appointment and also to refer the matter to the Special Prosecutor for further investigations,” read the statement that was issued by the presidency on Monday, November 14, 2022, and signed by the Director of Communications, Eugene Arhin. The statement was released on the same day that the allegations were made.

The President expressed his gratitude to Mr. Adu Boahen for the significant contributions he has made to his administration since his appointment in 2017, and he wished Mr. Adu Boahen success in all of his future endeavors.
